Fun Idea for your break! The students did really well on the IOWA testing and I was very proud of their hard work and efforts. They are certainly ready for their Fall Break though!
Tomorrow we will take a 10 question quiz on Constructive and Destructive forces in Science. They have a notebook full of information and a sheet of questions that they were able to research in the computer lab 3 different times. If they have been reading over the notes and listening, they should know quite a bit. Please be sure to practice multiplying decimals and feel free to take a sneak peek at dividing decimals. They are working hard, but practice will certainly help. Remember that next week is Fall Break and there is no school. My hope is for you to enjoy some relaxed family time. Relax and remember to tell your 5th grader how happy I am to have them in my life! They are AMAZING!
Many asked for resources for Math. The math book website is: https://connected.mcgraw-hill.com/connected/login.do . There is also an app you can download for the math book as well. Your students’ login is: Student User ID: ccsd(student ID) Password: cobbmath1 Social Studies Test on the Civil War is Wednesday 9/14/16! We have worked really hard and I am extremely proud of the kids!
IOWA Testing will begin for 5th graders this week as well. Our first test is Friday, September 16th from 8-9:45a.m. Please be on time for school and eat a healthy breakfast! No studying is necessary! Mid-Term Reports came home today. All students received a copy of their grades. If I felt there was an area of weakness, I attached a sheet with circled suggestions. Please sign these and return as soon as possible. Please check grades in Parent Vue to keep an eye on the constantly upgraded grades.
Please make note that I have and will be sending home Math Study Guides and students may choose to work on these prior to the test. It is extremely important that they use their math notebooks, Youtube.com math videos and you to help them complete these correctly. A class grade is given for their participation. These can only help their math grades and will never lower a grade. Next Math test is Friday, September 9, 2016 Thank you to everyone who attended the Parent Orientation last night. I hope I was able to answer all of your questions and help you to understand 5th grade. A VIP homework pass will come home today for a token of my appreciation of your time. I am sorry I missed those of you that had other plans. Feel free to email me with any questions. [email protected] Remember that Monday is a holiday and there will be no school. Enjoy your weekend.
